Mitchells plain is the worse in many other cases, even friends that I spoke too is having issues with Mitchell's plain court. I really want them to be investigated.

oh dont talk about when the father stops paying and you go to court again to lay charges they tell you they will investigate and they will phone you and they never do

yep Mitchells plain is the worst. took my baby daddy to maintain court he earned R9000 the judge said that he must pay R400 a month for his child

Bellville Maintenance Court say exactly the same. In fact... every attorney, clerk, Family Advocate's office employee I have ever spoken to have only ever said the same thing. Added to the fact that mothers/primary caregiver are responsible for all expenses, in order to prove expenses. Which then means that expenses can only be limited to what mom can afford and produce receipts for... that amount is then used to calculate the 50/50 split. On condition the father CAN AFFORD 50%. *BUT* "he must also be able to live"

Most of the Courts do this. I know of a single mother who has raised both her kids,on her own after a divorce and when she got the strength after many years to finally seek maintenance for her kids, she was treated like a criminal at the Court. This is our justice system sadly!.

I agree. There can never be 50/50. How can it be fifty? if I would actually take my baby mama to maintenance court I will ask what about the early mornings I wake up to get the child ready for school, running around for extra curricular. Raising a child is like a second job. How is it fair if the other parent just want to share the cost but what about the opportunity cost that is not shared fairly when they get to live their lives and focus on their jobs. I do what I do for my child out of love and I'm not even claiming support but this still infuriates me

this is so sad to see, as a husband and father i love my wife and Kids. as a father especially one who sees all the expenses month to month how can u settle for a 1000 a month that doesn't even cover transport. im not even going to list the expenses because there so many as im sure u know

They hear wht the father say if he say he can only give 300 then its ok if you as the mother have ur prove how much u give out... I walk in and out that maintenance office for years and only end op with 500 pm for my child for the last 17 years...

They even keep people waiting and telling people that too investigate it takes three months, but I almost waiting for 5years my kids is starving bills need to pay and they still investigate the father. I wonder if their kids will wait for give years to eat or dress well in winter.

Red Cross Appointments 5 times a month with no support even that didn't help getting maintenance from my son dad, because he was on drugs and it was just okay not to support your child

I've been waiting 15 years for something to happen! They " can't find" my child's father, he hasn't paid maintenance in years, he ran to Durban his wife is also waiting for answers. He speaks to my daughter every holiday his working but " they don't know where" and yet he pays uif.... They fucking useless!!! Everytime I go they say they "looking for him" they waiting on tracing, they're doing fokol
