In Harry Potter, they hired a consultant to create chess board setups that made perfect sense with the lines the characters were saying. Like when Ron had to sacrifice himself, the consultant placed each actor on a square where the best move was to sacrifice the knight. In queen's gambit, they basically didn't do anything like that the whole series. They just showed blurry chess boards and had the characters say generic chess phrases.

I absolutely hate how they make her explain the position to her opponent MID GAME, terribly pretentious, she’s a great character and I loved the show but God in the real world she would be WIDELY hated for the way she acts, very annoying

I hate how they just never showed or displayed what was on the actual board. It’s like someone talking dramatically about a football game when you have no idea what the score is, what quarter it is, who has the ball and how much time is left.
