In this video, I am opening up about a deeply personal and painful chapter of my life. Seeing the conversations surrounding the Lindsay Clancy case made me realize how important it is to talk about the darkest corners of maternal mental health, child loss, and severe depression.Losing a child brings a level of grief that is impossible to describe, and navigating deep depression in the aftermath can lead us to places of absolute desperation. I am sharing my own story, how I identified with the mental health struggles in her story, and a critical decision I had to make for my children while in the depths of that darkness.My hope in sharing this is to break the painful isolation that comes with mental illness and grief.
