A massive coalition of agricultural laborers, craftspeople, and ex-soldiers marches on the capital. Standing near the River Thames, you watch the crowds pour over the crowded medieval span of London Bridge. The atmosphere is terrifyingly tense. The uprising deliberately targets the ultimate symbols of elite wealth and corrupt government. You watch smoke billow from the magnificent Savoy Palace as the crowds burn royal archives to ash, attempting to physically destroy the very laws that keep them trapped in poverty. The chaos escalates completely out of control. While the teenage King Richard II rides out to the fields of Mile End to negotiate, a splinter group breaches the legendary stone walls of the Tower of London to exact lethal revenge on the highest government officials. The climax happens at the open market ground of Smithfield. The rebel leader Wat Tyler meets the King face to face, but the negotiation ends in sudden violence. The leader is killed, the rebellion collapses, and the crowds slowly disperse back into the dusty medieval streets.
