@cbsnews: New York City has released more than 170,000 pages of previously unseen records concerning air quality and health risks following the Sept. 11 attacks, Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced Tuesday. The documents include records showing what city officials knew about toxic air around Ground Zero and when they knew it. Mamdani said the release is part of a commitment to transparency for survivors, families and first responders who have spent years seeking answers about the health consequences of 9/11. The city also settled two lawsuits brought by 9/11 Health Watch, ending a multi-year legal battle over access to the records. Additional documents are expected to be released over the next 12 months.
