@thetimes: Tim Brown had spent two decades working for the fire department of New York (FDNY) before September 11, when nearly a hundred of his friends and colleagues were killed while responding to the attacks in lower Manhattan. In the months and years afterwards, grief began affecting nearly every part of his life. He drank heavily, struggled to function at work and cycled through therapists without finding any relief. Twenty-five years on from 9/11, in The Greatest Love: Lessons for Living with Extraordinary Courage — Even After the Worst Day of Your Life, Brown, 64, recounts the catastrophe he survived and, in an attempt to help others dealing with grief, shares how he regained control of his life afterwards #911 #newyorkcity #firefighter #grief #worldnews

I know it’s no comparison. Losing my mom has made me lost my facade, my anchor, my purpose, my routine. What more he has to faced so many losses. I feel him so much. It’s so painful. I can’t function. And I know I will never find relief too. For the rest of my lifetime.

May we learn from Tim strength and courage! It’s not easy to pick yourself up and try to move on when facing turmoil, pain and loss. Through his experience and journey he has became an encouragement to others. 🙏🏽
