@_aesync: #aesync || i hate when i’m telling men about something i experienced with another man, especially harassment, and instead of just listening, they immediately start telling me what i should’ve done differently to avoid it. like bro i’m telling you something that happened to me, why are you more concerned with defending the other person than just being on my side for once?? and it’s crazy how normalized this shit is. women are constantly told to be more careful, watch what we wear, watch where we go, watch who we’re around, etc. because apparently it’s our job to prevent men from harassing us, instead of men being taught not to fucking harass women. but the second a woman says something negative about men, suddenly we’re the problem. suddenly it’s “not all men,” suddenly we’re bitter or hateful or misandrist. y’all love talking about equality until women actually start holding men to the same standards. then somehow women doing the exact same thing is 100x worse.
