There's a rising number of people who are turning to AI for mental health support. In a survey by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, shared exclusively with 5 News, 3,000 therapists around the UK were asked about AI and its impact on their clients. More than a quarter saw a rise in what they called “unhelpful” therapy advice from Chat GPT and other AI. And, of those working with children, over a third said more young people are now using Al for help with mental health. However, there are concerns that, for some, it could do more harm than good.
