@beritartm: KUALA LUMPUR, 9 September — Hujan lebat berterusan sejak petang tadi mengakibatkan beberapa kawasan di ibu negara dilanda banjir kilat, termasuk Setapak dan Taman Melawati. Kejadian yang bermula kira-kira 4.35 petang itu menyaksikan aliran air deras mula menjejaskan laluan berhampiran kampus UTAR Setapak, selain menyebabkan kawasan perumahan di Taman Melawati dinaiki air hingga paras lutut. Susulan kejadian, Lebuhraya MRR2 dilaporkan mengalami kesesakan kritikal sepanjang tiga kilometer akibat takungan air dan pergerakan kenderaan yang perlahan. Pihak berkuasa tempatan dan anggota penyelamat berada di lokasi bagi memantau keadaan serta mengawal lalu lintas. Pengguna jalan raya dinasihatkan supaya mengelakkan laluan berisiko dan menggunakan laluan alternatif.
