Hard drives seized from the home of a self-described
Hard drives seized from the home of a self-described "caring, compassionate serial killer" reportedly contain videos that may prove Raymond “R.C.” Horsch was exactly who he said he was — or, the "killer" part, at least. According to a report by the Philadelphia Inquirer, Horsch appears to strangle a woman to death in a video found on a hard drive in his former home in Philly's Olney neighborhood. The unidentified woman's body has not been found. The discovery adds to an investigation involving at least five missing women linked to the property, including Gabrielle Amarando, Amy McHale, Maribel “Bella” Fresses, and Blair Tonzelli. Police say digital evidence indicates that at least three of the women may be dead. Authorities recently seized 50 hard drives from the home. They reportedly contained hundreds of thousands of images, tens of thousands of videos, and extensive writings and drawings. Police also seized cremated remains and unidentified chemicals. Horsch, a pornographer and author, died in 2025 at age 82. In his writings, he described strangling a woman to death and using chemicals to dispose of her body. He also wrote an autobiography in which he claimed to be "a caring, compassionate, empathetic serial killer." What police found on his property begs the question: were his books confessions? Meanwhile, Horst's son, Eugene, has been taken into federal custody on an unrelated gun charge. He has not been charged in the missing women’s cases, but he did live with his father up until his death. Investigators continue to analyze the evidence and believe additional missing women could eventually be connected to the property.
