It’s so frustrating when others around make it seem like a burden for you to exclusively breast feed and not introduce a pacifier.

I warn people on binkies and bottles early, i had my husband give my daughter a bottle when she was 3 days old and after for like 12 hours it was hard to get her to lack again. she had nipple confusion. so then we did no pacifier or bottle until she was 5 weeks old. now we only do one bottle a day when I shower and have me time for like an hour or 2 but the rest is from me. she doesnt like pacifiers now.

When I latched my baby for the first time the nurse came in and asked if she was eating and I said I’m not sure (I didn’t have her latched correctly but I wanted to figure that out on my own) and she told me to not let her use me as a pacifier. I’m very grateful I spent my whole pregnancy learning about breastfeeding because some of the “advice” I was given at the hospital would’ve ruined breastfeeding my baby

Honestly your videos have helped me so much. As a ftm when I was in the hospital they told me to only let my daughter nurse for 10-15 mins on each side and that if I didn’t unlatch her and give her a pacifier she would burn too many calories 🙃

Can my baby over feed on the breast? I feel like my baby drinks too much and then spits it up but my family says otherwise.

Hey Nicki, do you have any videos on co-sleep breastfeeding (side lying breastfeeding) possibly causing mastitis?

My 3-month-old baby is exclusively breastfed and was born at 38 weeks at the 83rd percentile, weighing 2’2.75 kg. Since then, she has dropped on her weight growth curve. She now weighs exactly 6 kg, so she has gained 2.25 kg since birth, which works out to approximately 25g per day since birth. Because she has only gained about 18 g per day over the past two weeks and has dropped on her growth curve, her doctors are concerned that she may not be getting enough milk. I had an in-home lactation consultant assess her breastfeeding and milk transfer, and she told me that everything looks excellent. She said that her milk transfer is very good. My baby also has 7–8 wet diapers a day and 3–4 bowel movements a day. She cries a lot and wants to be held constantly, but she otherwise seems well. She even looks a little chubby to me. The lactation consultant told me not to worry too much about the doctors’ concerns because they may be focusing too much on the numbers. I honestly don’t know what to do. The doctors are pushing me to give her formula to make sure she gains more weight and gets back up on her growth curve. What do you think I should do?

Sometimes when my baby wants to comfort nurse once she actually starting getting milk she gets fussy so as a last resort after trying to rock her I use the pacifier

I wish I would of been told this !!! I’m a FTM and my baby was a couple weeks early and was low weight and slowly gain weight but the hospital right after birth pushed to use a pacifier even though I did not want to and being a first time mom I will be honest I had to learn my little ones feeding and hunger cues….i cut the pacifier out by 2 moths and now won’t take one which is ok with me
