there’s also alternatives - cs is so broad you can apply it to a lot of things. i work in HRIS for a university - no coding, just doing Workday HCM and Salesforce. decent work life balance, i want to leave for other reasons but its been a chill 2.5 years

Having worked in the hospitality sector for a little over a decade, I do recommend looking into tech jobs that side. It feels like there is less competition, and the pay for me has been pretty good

also YOU yes YOU have to protect your time, if the job only requires forty then only give them forty hours, they do not own your whole life and big facts about working at smaller companies they kind rule tbh

Worked at on of the big tech companies for 3 years, I got hit with layoffs in mid 2023. I'm very happy at my mid sized company and even though I don't make as much, I have a much better QoL without the constant layoff stress

preach man. after working at medium tech company with shit culture. I've looking at all options . salary at this is not worth the cost of mental health. my current job drained me and put me into a pretty dark space.

Data analysis in banking/Wall Street has a lot of high earning potential and way better work/life balance depending on the shop (I do ts now)
