A child may laugh one moment, cry the next, become overwhelmed, suddenly withdraw, or react in a way that seems “unpredictable” to others. But behind every behavior, there may be sensory overload, anxiety, communication difficulties, pain, or emotions they simply cannot express. Please don’t judge the child or blame the parents. What looks like bad behavior to society may actually be a child struggling to communicate. Instead of staring, criticizing, or saying “control your child,” choose patience, understanding, and kindness.
