@tesleax: Someone on X did the math and told Elon Musk he was $998.9 trillion away from making a quadrillion dollars. Musk replied like it was only a matter of time. “Not impossible, but definitely requires factories on the Moon and Mars to achieve. By then, I don't think dollars will be used as currency. Just mass and energy.” So his idea is to build factories on the Moon and Mars. And by the time they are working, he thinks money may not even exist anymore. Instead, wealth could be measured by things like materials and energy. He was not thinking small. Just two days earlier, SpaceX had gone public on Nasdaq. It sold 555.6 million shares at $135 each and raised $75 billion, making it the biggest IPO ever recorded. The stock ended its first day up 19%, putting SpaceX’s value above $2.1 trillion. Forbes valued Musk’s fortune at $1.1 trillion, making him the first trillionaire in history. The next day, he said SpaceX could make $1 trillion in revenue by 2030. But Starship still has not proven that it can fully fly and land again on its own. Two former SpaceX executives also told The New York Times that going to the Moon has never really been a top goal for the company, despite Musk talking about it often. A man became a trillionaire on Friday. By Sunday, he was already explaining why the dollar might not be around long enough to measure the wealth of the future. #1official #ElonMusk
