when I usually get to the point of cutting back to the point of feeling like im missing out on things, it becomes an earning problem rather than a saving/cutting back problem, job market is tough but maybe this is life just pushing you for that next step career/job/side hustle wise

It’s just a small blip along the path. You already cleared 25k in debt, use these experiences as a celebration/checkpoint for your hard work. Save the money that you would be applying to your debt to be able to pay these trips in full so you don’t add more to the debt and then just enjoy yourself. Then get back to it once they’ve passed. Paying down that much debt is hard work and takes a lot of mental fortitude, great job.

You’re doing such a good job, sis. $5,600 left is SO close, and December is still a win. Please don’t beat yourself up for wanting to still show up for weddings, friends, and real life while paying off debt. The goal is freedom, not making yourself miserable on the way there. ❤️You can be responsible and still let yourself live a little.

$4k for two life event weddings is not bad at all. Maybe buy a dress or your outfit second hand. You’re in a great resale market since you’re in DC. You can even buy something nice and sell it after. There’s a ton of praise to give yourself and it sounds like your frustration is more rooted in society is overly expensive right now. But that’s very much so outside of you.

You can’t plan for life events of others (babies, weddings, funerals) and they are things you can’t miss. It’s okay to live in the moment while you plan for your future. Don’t think it’s a failure that you adjust the timeline. You’re rocking this, breathe homegirl 😂

You’ve done a great job so far. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Find the balance in enjoying these events and staying within budget. Don’t buy new clothes for every event. That doesn’t matter in the end and no one will remember what you wore.

You’ve already paid off so much debt, so just remind yourself you can be responsible in paying it back off in the future. I paid of $12K in credit card debt and I’ve never re-ran up those accounts and I’m so proud of myself for responsibly saying NO and when I do say YES, it’s within reason.

I think you're feeling the stress because you are so close. When you don't have debt, you can save for these goals so much more easily. I like to break down my savings goals in advance and set aside a little at a time, so by the time the event comes up, I have the money. You will be able to do that soon. Going to destination weddings alone is so expensive.

Put 1 dress as a guest to work and swap shoes/excessories and try to just penny pinch where you can for these events. You're super close to your debt being gone and you haven't been overspending on unimportant things. Either way you'll have completed your goal before the new year starts. What a beautiful way to bring in 2027.

from an older man id like to throw my 2 cents in, you'll always have debt...make the memories and find ways to cut cost on daily activities. At the end of the day you wont remember the day you paid off your credit card.
