here I can see how the Australian government handles overstayed tourists , workers and students . to Malaysia that is tightly control their system and the final or compound is a huge amount like ten thousands dollar and a blacklist for 5 years. Therefore in Malaysia any illegal or overstayed just fine 500 ringgit only blacklist for 3 years.
