@author_matthewflagler: Is American healthcare really better than Canadian healthcare? Canada has serious healthcare problems. Long waits, difficulty finding a family doctor, and delayed access to specialists are legitimate criticisms—and pretending otherwise doesn’t help fix them. But the United States spends roughly twice as much per person on healthcare as Canada, while international comparisons continue to raise serious questions about access, affordability, outcomes and equity. So maybe we’re asking the wrong question. Instead of arguing about which country “wins,” let’s define what better healthcare actually means. Is it faster access? Better outcomes? Lower costs? Universal coverage? Financial protection? Quality of care? And most importantly: Better for whom? This isn’t an argument that Canada’s system is great. It’s an argument that healthcare is too complicated to reduce to one statistic—or a Canada-vs-America shouting match. #canada #healthcare #universalhealthcare #healthcarereform #usa

I'd rather wait in a Canadian emergency room for free health care than have to pay. I'd rather wait for a specialist I'm a 4x transplant patient I'd be in debt or not here if I was in the States. Yes I know Canada's health care isn't perfect because I have seen it from the inside

I’ve experienced cancer in both the US and Canadian healthcare systems. I literally wrote a book about it. Wanna take a guess which country I’m staying in?

Canada’s health care is not perfect and can be better. But the USA system is horrible. We should learn from Australia and the UK.

The whole idea around healthcare is that you need it now you go to the hospital when you need it is so important to get the help you need when you need it. 😆 It’s that simple .

On average Canadians pay $2k more in taxes yet they make it seem like that's more important than the $15k in healthcare costs they pay on average. 🤷
