Totally agree! Also: your tolerance for roughing it declines as you age. Shoestring travel was so fun when I was 20, but the charms of hitchhiking and staying in absurdly cheap hostels pale as you approach 40. Love the memories of it, though!

Gotta add motorcycle tour through northern Vietnam to the list. The whole time I was on it I kept thinking how much my family would like this but I genuinely didn’t know if they’d be able to do it at their ages anymore

I love this!! I also live by this, in a way that I save for later the “most expensive” and also “easier” trips, like Europe for example! 🫶🏻 And I rather visit Asia right now, or central/South America! But I would love to visit Africa right now but the budget isn’t there lol

I cannot explain to you how surreal sleeping in Wadi Rum was. The sunset on the rocks, the hazy red sand at dusk, The STARS, my god the stars. I wept like a baby.
