@socalgastrodoc: If you've been cutting out all high-FODMAP foods for months, this post is for you. FODMAPs are groups of carbohydrates that are poorly absorbed, highly fermentable, and can trigger GI symptoms in some people. The low-FODMAP diet is one of the most common recommendations for IBS but most patients just get a handout of foods to avoid, with no next step. That's the problem: the goal was never to cut FODMAPs forever. It's to find which ones are your triggers and limit only those. Research shows most people react to just 1–2 FODMAP groups and don’t need to avoid all FODMAPs.
why is it not a lifestyle? its healthy isnt it. But only started a week ago.

Justme :
I was prescribed relaxants for my anxiety and only then, after years and decades of struggling with IBS, I realized that my stomach/belly was always in spasm, I wasn't even noticing it. Now I can control the spasm and my digestion improved significantly. Is this possible or am I imagining?

Deanna :
At the start of my symptoms, my G.I. doctor told me to switch to a low FOD map diet. He didn’t tell me that I was supposed to be using it to identify my triggers. And not indefinitely. I was miserable.
