i feel like this is one of the biggest misconceptions in deltarune. Kris doesn't really show any signs of resentment towards the player in the normal route. They try to stop it from peeking into their plan, but they don't actually show any signs of hatred. In chapter 1, they just prank it by trying to seem menacing with the knife and then just eating pie. I think they don't really blame the soul, but rather they just do what they gotta do sometimes. Atleast in the normal route.

I dont think your a seperate entity in undertale, like the game acknowledges frisk and the player are two seperate beings, but frisk is like a dumb hollowed out rock kinda just being piloted by you 😭 compared to kris who has an opinion on your choices

I mean, it makes no sense for Kris to hate you if you improved most aspects of their life—like their social life—until you remember that you also do things like ruin their school life because they were third in the class, or the fact that, canonically, we never actually feed them real food in any of the chapters.
