@Owen Thomsen has been working really hard the last few days with his therapy…the mirror therapy was pretty crazy, its so interesting how you can trick your mind into believing your leg is actually there even though its not…this technique could potentially be very helpful when/if the phantom sensations/pains come and go. We also did some other massaging, tapping and used a vibration tool to help the nerves get used to some new sensations…it was crazy for owen to touch his calf on one side but be able to feel it on the amputated portion of his leg that isn’t there…he is experiencing some pretty wild things with this amputation. Owen’s attitude, perspective, outlook and humor through all of this has been absolutely incredible!! This is just a bump in the road for this kid. It may slow him down for a second but it will not take him down permanently. He is already counting up how many different prosthetics he will need to do all his favorite things…wake surfing, snowboarding, dirt biking etc. I’m so proud of the way all of our families have come together to love and support not only Owen and Kam but also eachother. Its been so wonderful to have all the love from both sides of both Owen and Kams families. There has always been a shoulder to cry on, a hand to hold, a hug to give or receive, a laugh, a joke, a smile…someone has been there every second along the way, its been incredibly beautiful in every way 💕💕. I am humbled and so very grateful!! Life is very, very good!!💕 . . . . .
