THE TRUTH ABOUT PETITS FILOUS YOGURT DRINKS! If there’s one thing that really angers me it’s deceptive food marketing of kids products, sending messaging to well intentioned parents that these products are excellent for their kids health.. when in reality they’re packed with sugar! We know that a diet that’s consistently very high in sugar is detrimental for kids health and their future health. These kids petits Filous yogurt drinks may have vitamin D and calcium but the 10g of sugar in one tiny 100g bottle outweighs any benefit of the calcium and vitamin D in my view. It’s 2.5 teaspoons of sugar and is half the daily recommended intake of sugar for kids so having this drink would be half the amount of sugar they should have in the day! Notice how they’re also positioned on the lower shelves of the supermarket at kids eye level… this is done very intentionally as the brands want kids to be drawn in by the cartoon looking packs and “pester” their parents to pick them up! We’ve all been there with young kids, it can be a nightmare walking through the supermarket aisles! There’s actually a term these food companies use for this -their objective is for the products to have “pester power”. I get how tricky it is navigating foods with young kids especially if they have picky phases like my 6yo and 3yo certainly do! And as parents we can only do our best! They will be consuming some ultra processed foods and that’s ok…. What I’m really trying to highlight in these videos is that awareness is key in navigating our supermarkets and we can make clever swaps for better choices when we read and understand labels👌 Of course giving your kids a yogurt drink like this sometimes is fine but just not every single day thinking it’s “supporting their immune system” the way it’s marketed here!! And if they’ll have the natural yogurt pouches from Glenilen that is a wonderful snack for them to have daily!! What do you think of this? Was it helpful? I’d love to know in comments 👇 #sugar #readlabels #foodlabels #sophiesswaps
