@bethalizzz: I think my problem is that I’m a planner, perfectionist & a control freak, so with the hospital stay & the two eye surgeries I’ve never felt so out of control..and they were right before something so important to me, when I feel that having control matters most. I’ve looked forward to my baby shower for my whole life (maybe even more than my wedding) especially because when I got married I was almost 400 pounds, extremely awkward & introverted & did not love myself in the ways that I do now. The obstacles that have been thrown my way in just these last two months leading up to the shower have really tested my control issues. Thankfully I have my in laws throwing the shower for me because had I been throwing it myself, I probably would’ve had to cancel it. Luckily recovery was normal & not extended so I’ve been able to at least utilize the control I do have like these few days to organize, nest & get myself together for the shower. I’m just not going to feel the way I’ve always dreamed of with a wonky eye & not being able to see out of it fully. And it’s not about what everyone will see or think of me, it’s about me, you know??
