HOW TO GET YOUR CERTIFICATO MEDICO SPORTIVO IN ITALY👇 I keep seeing people say this is impossible or that they have no idea where to start. So here’s exactly what I do. I get the certificato medico sportivo agonistico, which is the more comprehensive medical certificate required for competitive sport. If you only need the non agonistico certificate for the gym or recreational sport, your requirements may be simpler. For my agonistico certificate, I need: 1) Sports medicine appointment Book with a centre/doctor authorised to issue the certificato di idoneità sportiva agonistica for your sport. 2) Request from your sports club/federation If you’re competing through a club or federation, you’ll normally need the official request specifying your sport. 3) Urine test I buy the sample container at the pharmacy for around €1, do the sample at home, and bring it with me/drop it off where I’m having my tests done. 4) and 5) are done together ECG + exercise test For the agonistico certificate, mine includes an ECG and an exercise component. Yes, you actually do a little workout while they monitor your heart. Medical examination They also check things like your blood pressure, heart/lungs and general fitness to participate in your sport. Once everything is cleared, you receive your certificato medico sportivo agonistico. The first time you do this in Italy it can feel overwhelming because nobody explains the process properly.
