“massive imperfect progress” “progress not perfection”- i have repeated things things to myself so many times through so many projects that i really think of them as my real spiritual practice. it’s where i learn most about myself, where my mind is quietest, where i am the most proud of myself. handsewing sometimes feels like writing in a diary to me. to take all my the feelings i’m having while working and tuck them away into my stitches and seam allowances. it’s so meditative. i feel such a special relationship with all the pieces i’ve made like this. they are so sacred to me. and i worry sometimes this is silly and over dramatic, but the process has done so much for me that any worry in that regard is just pulled into more stitches, always bettering the next. #sewing #handsewing #perfectionism
