I always like to add a little anecdote about the person I'm introducing as well. For instance: Mrs Newfield this is Diego, he's the captain of the school's chess club. Diego this is Mrs Newfield, the school's head mistress.

Fun fact. Another etiquette rule when introducing 2 people: include a common interest. For example: ‘John this is Mark. Mark this John. John is also a hiker.’ WHY: it sparks immediate conversation between John and Mark. Ur welcome.
