School bus driver here. The only driving condition you can control is your speed. 5 miles an hour over 5 km an hour over might not seem like much but speed limits are posted for safety reasons. I say this with nothing but respect having raised a few kids of my own and having run late more times than I care to remember. Leave earlier. Or if you’re late, stay late. Nothing is worth causing an accident.

I did one a few months ago - cheered me right up! We were asked why people speed - someone piped up with “they could be heartbroken” and the comedy gold continued from there!

I had mine and there was a lady that had been driving for 20 years, she didn’t know what a national speed limit sign looked like and thought the speed limit on a dual carriageway was 80 😳

They asked us if we thought 70 mph on the motorway was reasonable. I said no, because that’s an arbitrary number introduced as a temporary measure in 1965 based on cars of that time. The safety, quality and general features of cars have advanced significantly since then and so should the speed limit. Apparently that was not the correct answer.
