As someone who works with young children in a school setting I thank you for not only teaching responsibility but also teaching direction. You’d be surprised the amount of kids that can’t follow one step directions. I’ll be doing the same lessons with my son!

My mom grounded me for 3 months until my room was clean. Didnt know where to start. A family friend heard my trouble and came over everyday after school and taught me this exact trick. Wish my mom would have taught me instead of punishing me

its a scavenger hunt! breaking up a large task into smaller ones helps with reducing feeling overwhelmed or not knowing where to start. Also great for adults!

If I had been taught like this I probably would enjoy cleaning more. I was the kind of kid who would shove things under the bed or in the closet because cleaning was too overwhelming. Being taught to break it down definitely would've helped a lot.
