@oliver.henry.w: I have no idea how you all cope with this heat for the entire summer. People of Dallas, how are you going out for runs in this heat? I have lost all my acclimatisation after going back to England and I’ve reset back to level one. I am cooking.
Sorry, but we do generally stay inside until the sun goes down. 🤣

1) sugary and salty drinks help rehydrate and restore essential electrolytes
2) ice, I know Europeans laugh at Americans for putting ice in their beverages, the colder the drink the more it lowers your core temperature when you drink it
3) the human body can lose 3 l of water per hour through sweat during extremeheat, the human body can only absorb 1 l water during the same time... hydration is something you need to be proactive about. 4) avoid being outside between 2: 00pm and 8:00 p.m.
5) cold water to the back of the neck is the best way to cool off

I’m team straw hat. Keep the ventilation but take the shade with you. Also, my fam rolls up wet bandanas horizontally and then puts them in the freezer. It doesn’t last long but nice to throw around your neck after it freezes. Drink LOTS of water. Buy day passes at hotel pools

Don’t hide - you’ll never get used to it. Wear breatheable clothing. Walk slowly. Stay hydrated. Get a hat. Good luck.
