And for anyone that wants to come here and argue “but studies say 10-20 sets per week is better for muscle growth 🤓☝️”.. well thanks for proving me right. They measure fractional sets. So sit this out. - So anyways. ARBITRARY… the things you are worrying about are ARBITRARY. They have NO VALUE. They serve NO PURPOSE. - SO. If I sit here and tell you “if you’re training something 2-3x per week, with 4-10 weekly sets, and a good rep range to be in is 3-8”… why would you go out of your way to ask “should I do 2 sets of a chest press one upper day and 2 sets of a fly on the other?”… WHAT??!! - “Is it ok if I do 1 set of preacher curls and 1 set of hammer curls?”… WHO CARES.. - You have your answer already. - Your main focus shouldn’t be about how many sets you can do. It’s gonna get to a point where you may have to lower the volume a bit anyway. Your priority should be how strong can you get. More muscle = more force production capability. Because you know.. contractile proteins literally produce the force to contract a muscle.. - Stop worrying about numbers so much. Instead, worry about how often you can put forth your best effort. That being the highest degree of effort you can achieve for a set. Need an example? ⬇️ Pick your favorite exercise and do it at the beginning of your session. See how strong your very first set is. Do your 2nd set, see how strong that one is. But take it even further.. in a different session, that same exercise, put it last in your session and see how that goes.
