Spreading awareness is not real activism I wish people knew this. Im guilty of ts as well but its mad annoying having to deal with people who are just like “well what CAN i do then, i cant do anything!!!!” Like yeah bro not with that attitude??? Mutual aid, donations, working with organizations, protesting, boycotting can get us somewhere…. But reposting a fckin tiktok video about “dont stop talking about ___” is just VAGUE.

I’ve always been rubbed off the wrong way with this, “I’m spreading awareness!” But it honestly makes look unserious and yeah sorry but reposting a tiktok video isn’t activism. Most of the times it seems like the creator just wants people to say stuff like “we love an educated baddie!!” About them, If that makes sense 😅

Thank you for actually providing sources on how we can actually contribute to making a difference. This is what 90% of people on here fail to do, they dont provide actual ways to help, but instead they just regurgitate the same phrase another person said to fuel their morality meter for the day. A great example of someone who actually wants to make a difference is Jason (@/wickedcowboy.com) he's really incredible.

“how can i help then? i can’t do anything” post any sort of link? “im not old enough to vote” start doing research on who to vote for so that you already are educated when you can vote. “all politicians are corrupt tho!” then you be the change? try to become the political figure you wanted to see? spread awareness to people who care and can actually help if you are unable to provide any help whatsoever. DO RESEARCH AND PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION!!!! also don’t get pissy when ppl ask for more context on your very vague posts because “it won’t get pushed to the algorithm”. use actual sources and not just the ai overview on google. i get that yall are at least spreading information (its better than absolutely nothing) but you need to provide ways for people to help on your videos. i will say that performative activism is technically better than nothing though (in my opinion)

It’s mostly irritating when they have unserious clips/photos in the background making it seem watered down. I don’t see a problem when people share facts for people who don’t understand what’s going on and give us sources etc. I also think when people make rants about what’s happening (rants like a sprite of a K-pop artest etc and a slime background)
