@michaelsegaren520: MPs are getting an increase of around S$5,000 a month, and Singaporeans have every right to ask: Are we getting the level of representation and accountability that taxpayers deserve? Look at the difference between a GRC and an SMC. In an SMC, one MP represents the entire constituency. There is no team to share the responsibility. If that MP is silent in Parliament, rarely speaks up, or fails to raise issues affecting residents, voters know exactly who to hold accountable at the next election. But in a GRC, several MPs represent one constituency as a team. If one MP is rarely seen debating or speaking in Parliament, responsibility can appear to be spread across the entire team. That can make it harder for voters to judge each MP individually. Take Darryl David, for example, who was elected in Ang Mo Kio GRC. The issue isn't about attacking him personally. The question is much bigger: How active is each individual MP in Parliament? How often do they speak up? What issues have they raised? And what have they actually delivered for the people they represent? If MPs receive higher salaries, shouldn't the public expect higher standards of performance and accountability as well? Enough with collective accountability. Every MP should be answerable for their own performance, not simply protected by the strength of a GRC team. Taxpayers pay their salaries. Voters give them their mandate. Therefore, voters deserve the right to see, question and judge their individual performance. At the next election, don't just ask: “Who won the GRC?” Ask: “What did MY MP actually do?” No hiding behind the team. No hiding behind the GRC. No hiding behind silence. If you are paid to represent the people, you must be prepared to answer to the people.

Sleeping at work is unacceptable in any organisation, especially for MPs, Speakers etc. Worse when you are sleeping in Parliament. You are showing no respect to the organisation, the government of Singapore.

In the First Place, one need to ask a simple basic question : Does a Tiny Red Dot that hardly can be found in the World Map need 100+ RulingParty MPs?
