It's both sad and ironic. Seeing love destroy so much around her, yet her casting her spell is probably what cemented the fact she would eventually met that man. Almost like she challenged the universe and it said, bet. Sometimes I wonder if she had like dreams or premonitions of him which is why she described him perfectly.

As a kid, I loved it. However as an adult, 👀 it’s very sad (and makes me think she had to grow up faster than her sister) Also, not to bring back to those SF witches, but I can see Piper as Sally of she had grown up with magic… those aunts might be on the rug with Penny👀

I identified so hard with little Sally, I saw what “love” had done to my older sisters (they are 15 and 11 years older than me) and never wanted that life for myself, so had I been able to magic, I might have done the same thing Sally did.

That scene is so impactful for me especially as a coming of age caution. Just thinking of all the possibilities sally closed herself off too because she didn’t want to fall in love. This is so mademoiselle coded too from eve’s bayou another witch with a problem of love. Ugh I love that dichotomy
