I dislike everyone on the view but they go it right this time. Mental health is not an excuse for murder. Nick Reiner killed both his parents with the excuse, do we let him off also?

Personally I am not understanding the Lindsay worshippers. Yes I do feel some amount of sympathy for her but more so for her children. Yes she did seek help, while simultaneously not disclosing very pertinent information. Not taking any of the medications for more than a few doses, other than benzos of course (including antidepressants and mood stabilizers). She saw a therapist twice and stopped going. Never went to group therapy that was set up for her. So she lied and didn’t follow the treatment plan and is now pointing fingers at her doctors. She’s made a mockery of the field of psychiatry.

My sister suffered from this & the best thing I done for her was to get her committed for two & half years & yes it took this long to get her back on track! She had two little boys that I took under my wing while she was getting the treatment she so badly needed!!

We should be talking about how a woman who had all these resources, supports, health “care,” doctors, access to medication, ended up in psychosis and a mental state like this. She was turned away from suicide hotlines because there was “no plan” just like when women who call hotlines for domestic abuse get turned away if they aren’t on the literal street. What does this mean for all of the women who don’t have access to those resources too? It’s a bigger problem and a system that has failed so many.

Lindsay was extremely privileged compared to most women. Her husband took paternity leave, worked from home, hired a nanny, got both sets of grandparents involved, the kids went to school 3x a week, and she had access to postpartum care due to her being a labor and delivery nurse. There was nothing else Patrick could've done. Lindsay was weak. She failed

Genuine question... if she's FULLY AWARE she had a problem. and knowing something was wrong. to where she would be violent. why didnt SHE remove herself from the family and go check into a rehab facility? since people believe the system failed her. and probably so. sounds like she had a choice and she choose to stay around her family. knowing she had a problem.

Mental health isn't a get out of accountability card. It's a way to understand in order to seek support and make changes. We need to talk about issues not use them to excuse behaviors.
