@drsuecancervet: Come to the clinic and meet Whiskey, a 6-year-old dog coming in for her 7-day post-treatment check after receiving STELFONTA®️💉 Here are some takeaways I want you to get from this visit: If you’re treating a mast cell tumor with STELFONTA®, one of the most important things I can tell you is: trust the healing process. 💜 The treatment site can look dramatic before it gets better (example above), but some of the biggest improvements often happen between days 7 and 14. In fact: 🐾 57% of wounds are healed by week 4 🐾 78% are healed by week 6 🐾 Only about 12% of cases may need a second treatment And despite how the treatment site may look during the healing process, antibiotics typically aren’t necessary. The key is knowing what’s expected, monitoring your patient, giving the drug time to do what it’s intended to do, and allowing the wound healing to happen with minimal intervention. Sometimes the hardest part of STELFONTA® is simply trusting the process, but the healing can be pretty remarkable. 💉🐾 What are your thoughts on Whiskey's recheck? P.S. See how comfortably she walks, given the wound on her leg? Remarkable. 👏🏻 #vetmed #stelfonta #mastcelltumor #veterinaryoncology #drsuecancervet
