Not a fan of this take as a clippers fan. The trade wasn’t Shai for PG, it was Shai who was drafted 11th overall and 5 first round picks back to back to back for PG. idc who it is, 5 first round picks is ridiculous and it’s ridiculous to say that anybody would have done that and that there lying if they say they wouldn’t. Definitely a great situation for Shai tho. Ty Lu has zero respect from this clippers team

Can’t blame the Clips for making the trade. You just can’t pass on two great two way players in their prime. The only issue was they just couldn’t stay healthy.

Nah. You don’t give up THAT much to pair very similar players/roles/positions with recent health/durability concerns. Left them with very little margin for error.

facts trade only looks bad in hindsight. kawhi looked like the best player in the world during the playoffs while winning the chip + finals mvp and pg was top 3 in mvp and dpoy voting that year. trade even worked out in SGAs favor tbh for him to reach his full potential
