the best solution I can think of would be decades away. nano machines that can refold them back into their proper shapes. of course, if they can keep that correct shape is a different question.

This is also why they're so hard to contain, and we can't just cook them out of meat. Pathogens are living and will be killed by cooking to a certain temperature. The temperature required to destroy prions is less like cooking and more like cremation. Very scary stuff.
