@njapoet: Last night was not a reflection of what is normally an incredible night of hilarious comedy from dozens of open mic comics from Sacramento to Modesto and beyond. Last night, however, was a cringey mess of bad seggs "jokes," painful silences, and lots of groans. Was it a tough audience, bad comedy, weird weather, or was Mercury in Venus's microwave? It's hard to say what made last night so memorably bad, but next Tuesday's Freshly Ground event (seasoned comics/new jokes only) will be better because the comics will be curated -- and then we will try again with another open mic comedy night on the fourth Tuesday. And if that goes badly, Branson (our host) is fired and we will close our doors to comedy forever! (That was a joke. Maybe.) #queenbean #comedy #openmic #modesto
