They are empty because the minds of the committees are empty. Most masjids are public buildings and registered charities but they are run like businesses. This is why they aren’t serving the community properly. Allah guide us all, ameen.

From experience a lot of masjid have opened their doors but the engagement from women is low. I have tried to engage many women for over 15years in different areas and the lack of engagement or even interest would surprise you. So its prob depends on areas.

You are right. Our Masajids are kept empty purposely. To keep people including sisters ignorant as knowledge is power. The Masajids trustees and committees are just running it like a mafia. The Masajids in the time of our Nabi Muhammad SAW was for multipurpose activities. We need to open the doors of our Masajids.

Masjids in certain demographical areas are an extension of the families and clans. They use pressure and gaslighting as a means of control.

Can we set up a Muslims womens team to manage a masjid and then employ the imams, security, cleaning group etc. I wonder how this idea would work. I'm so tired of Muslim women being 2nd class in the Muslim communites.
