If I am apply for the same field of work and have included all the key words I have seen in the job descriptions for those jobs, how do I alter my resume for every application. It should cross over to the jobs I’m looking for right?

I'll believe this when I stop getting rejection emails an hour after I apply for a job at 2am.

The AI thing makes me so mad. My current ATS has zero AI capabilities. It has knockout questions but that’s not anything new. Also, people grossly overestimate how much recruiters actually trust any AI to properly rank applicants. I go through our automatic DQ’s to see if people accidentally checked no to a knockout question.

No. They do have an auto reject feature if you didn’t answer the qualifiers wrong. Like “do you have a bachelors” if you select no, you get an automatic rejection. Girl I’m HR and know how to set this up.

What about the Workday lawsuit that showed AI is rejecting people?

Why would I tailor my resume for the job if I have 10yrs experience and 2 degrees in the field work for the job with the listed required education and above the needed experience...? What exactly am I supposed to write?

I feel like the ats still gets too picky. I've heard too many stories about highering managers going through the rejected resumes and pulling 10+ great applications because the wording didn't match the keywords 100% or only had 3 of 7 keywords. Or similar things like that.

It is so easy to target your resume. Run it through AI. It will help you. I am not a fan of running it through and not reading it. But it can definitely help you show your skills that match the job.

just because you don't use it that way doesn't mean the majority don't.

See my worry is that in a few years when I’m looking for a job in the field I’m studying for and have no experience beyond my degree I’ll never get a job cause everywhere demands like 5 years of experience but also wants younger people?

I've had SEVEN interviews for the same role. the recruiter, 3 vps, cmo, chief nephrologist and the cmo. called 2 weeks ago and said they're sending me an offer and I'm still waiting- yeah the market is moving SLOW

the problem with tayloring your resume is that some sites literally don't let you do that. you fill out your profile and thats the aplication, if you taylor your profile to fit one of the jobs you're applying to, it means your aplication for any others is worse now then when it was more generic (i do agree with the advice, but its frustating not being able to even try to follow it sometimes)

Ahh, yes. The scapegoat answer of “the ATS is just a filing cabinet!” No company is spending 6-figures a year on a digital Rolodex. The fact of the matter is, if you’re using that ATS that way you have not set it up appropriately. The vast majority of companies are utilizing the built-in AI filters score and ranking systems that do effectively make candidates invisible. This is an excuse, many recruiters and HR folks used to avoid the accountability for having either set the system up incorrectly with too many filters, or don’t actually know how the system itself was built.

Legitimate question here, but I've noticed that a lot of jobs no longer send out rejection letters. Is this actually a reality or am I missing something?
