i mean, would you apply the same restrictions on lesbians? gay men? bisexual people? it just becomes ridiculous once you start thinking about it outside the rigid lines of heterosexuality. if a man can’t be friends with women without having ulterior motives, then he never viewed them as real people anyway. if he could cheat on you with any woman just because they’re a woman, then what makes you special?

For me it gives me the ick when the man who’s interested in me has a lot of female friends, not jealousy, not insecurity, it makes me not attracted to him anymore. I personally don’t have friendships with men and I don’t want to and I’m attracted to a partner who is the same.

I hung out with them both multiple times seeing their dynamic in person helped but the friend and I never clicked really. She kept telling my bf she thought I didnt like her & I felt she didnt have much interest in including me.. never asked me to hang like just us girls & still would always just ask my bf to hang no mention of me until he did.

I'm not saying it's impossible, but every man that ever tried to befriend me after age 13 was trying to sleep with me, so personally I don't have male friends and I'd be wary of a man that has tons of female friends. it's a different story if it's a big mixed group, a family friend, or somebody they met in their childhood, but for the most part I am wary of male/female friendships that involve a lot of time being spent alone with each other. cynical, yes, but just my thoughts.
