Okay it wasn’t a crazy spot but I had one placed in the back of my thumb when chemo had ruined my veins. Problem with that placement was only being able to mobilise on crutches so putting pressure through that shizz hurt so bad couldn’t even use my wheelchair because of infection risks

fun facts: the drilling into the bone does not hurt, the flushing afterwards does because you can't put an Anesthetic into the bone.

when I was in the hospital a nurse injected saline too fast and my iv came out i told them to please use my other arm cause I was heavily bruised on the right side. they used my left side but then needed to draw blood for testing and since the right side they couldn't find the vein they had to draw blood from my wrist on the left side. never felt more pain in my life (except toothaches) and I definitely have gotten even more afraid of needles then I already were

when i was in hospital with sepsis, the IV in my elbow tissued, tried my other elbow, tissued. nurse looked at my foot and I was like "please do not..." she walked away, spoke to drs and they agreed i could have oral meds and be sent home at that point... very grateful
