@jackiebowenreviews: “God Cares About HOW We Worship” “Cain and Abel both brought an offering to God—but God did not regard them the same.” Genesis 4 shows us something deeper than two brothers bringing offerings. Abel brought the firstborn of his flock and the fat portions. Cain brought an offering from the fruit of the ground. The issue wasn't simply that one brought animals and one brought crops. Scripture tells us Abel brought his offering by faith. Hebrews 11:4 tells us that Abel's offering was offered in faith. That means God isn't merely interested in what we place in His hands. He cares about what is happening in our hearts when we give it to Him. We can do the right religious activity with the wrong heart. “God isn't looking only at the gift in your hand.
