@timessquarechurch: You can’t separate worshiping God and obeying Him. In 1 Samuel 15, Saul wanted to worship God while still holding onto what God had told him to let go of. He wanted the appearance of obedience without actually surrendering to God. Sometimes we do the same. We sing, we pray, we raise our hands, but still hold onto the things God is asking us to cut off. God isn’t looking for empty worship. He’s looking for surrendered hearts and obedient lives. Don’t just sing. Get a sword. #newyorkcitychurch #timesquarechurch #timessquarenyc #christiantiktok #podcast #chapterbychapter #pastortimdilena

Fdm :
Saul was not a representation of what God chose Saul represents what people wanted if you go back to the beginning and you study the whole thing you realize that the people go to Samuel and say they want a king why because they’ve been talking to other people, they see Kings and other places Samuel takes it personal even God rebukes Samuel and says they didn’t refuse you as the leader they refused me as their king, they chose a person that looked the part. It says it he look good. He was out the smallest tribe. God chose Samuel God chose the 12 to be governed by him God as king God gave them what they wanted so never represented God so represents man.
