I use to live in Alaska , and fished off of Kodiak and out of Dutch Harbor. theirs an island called bear island that had a cannery and there are lots of kodiaks living their. I left Alaska in end of 2000. after 17 years , the second time I lived up there. had many sightings of bears up there but never hunted and. they are amazing animals with definite personalities, just like humans, but very very dangerous and can be deadly very quickly .

This group of guys did not appear to be seasoned enough for an Alaskan experience. Seasoned hunters, hikers etc don't make the error of leaving salmon that close. Their reactions once the attack started were not those of one with skills on this area. Every person should have had bear spray attached directly to their belt. Any group like this needs a professional guide to help keep them safe!
