This is the pandemic that no one’s talking about. About 90% of people will have Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) at some point in their life. And here’s what I wish more women knew: You can have EBV in your system for years without it being an obvious problem. Then perimenopause happens. Estrogen starts to fluctuate and eventually decline. Your body is under more stress. Your immune system changes. And for some women, viruses that have been dormant can become active again. Suddenly you’re exhausted. Your hair is thinning. Your body is changing. You’re gaining weight. Your brain feels foggy. You don’t feel like yourself. And you’re told… “Your thyroid is normal.” “Your labs look fine.” “It’s just perimenopause.” And yes… it can be perimenopause. But what if there’s more to the story? This is why I believe we have to stop looking at women’s health through one lab value or one diagnosis. You can’t simply “get rid of” EBV. Once you’ve been infected, it remains in the body, typically in a dormant state. The goal is to support your body and immune system so it can do what it was designed to do. And that’s exactly why I’m so passionate about supporting women through this transition with nutrition, lifestyle, stress management, sleep, and targeted hormone support. Because your body isn’t broken it may just need more support than “your labs are normal” gives you. If you’re in perimenopause and you’re exhausted, gaining weight, losing hair, struggling with brain fog, or simply don’t feel like yourself anymore, comment HORMONES and I’ll show you what I use to support my body through this season. #perimenopause #menopause #hormonebalance #womenswellnessjourney #hormones
