![Railway Wagon Friction Wedge (Bogie Wedge) The railway freight wagon bogie is a key component of the freight wagon. Most conventional railway freight wagon bogies adopt a three-piece structure comprising two side frame assemblies and one bolster assembly. The pedestals (jaws) at both ends of each side frame assembly are mounted on the front and rear wheelset assemblies by means of bearing adapters and bearing assemblies, while the two ends of the bolster assembly are mounted, by means of two sets of central spring suspension devices, within the central window (central opening) of the side frame assemblies. The central spring suspension device serves to carry the load of the bolster assembly, and mainly comprises a load-bearing spring assembly located in the middle and friction wedge damping devices located on both sides. The existing friction wedge damping device comprises a wedge assembly and a damping spring assembly installed beneath the wedge assembly; the vertical main (primary) friction surface and the inclined secondary friction surface of the wedge assembly are respectively in frictional contact with the side frame column face of the side frame assembly and the splayed (V-shaped) face of the bolster assembly.
