People with the ‘lucky’ mindset are usually privileged people, let’s not forget that. Those with negative world views feel that way because they’ve seen the worst the world has to offer, they are not blindly going through life believing everything is wonderful, they see the risks before they see the opportunity because in their personal experience they have made choices that led to terrible events or taken risks which have ended horribly. They are privileged to have never gone through life altering trauma, or to be disabled or chronically ill, lucky to have been born into money and financial stability, lucky to have not been born in a war torn or unstable country, lucky to have had things go in their favour when it so easily could have been a different story. I think we forge our own paths and the power of manifestation should not be underestimated but there is ALWAYS an element of luck, of being literally unable to ‘play the hand you’re dealt’, of having unavoidable terrible things happen that leave you in a horrible situation. Luck and privilege often go hand in hand.

It’s not about “lucky” or “unlucky” people, it’s about anxiety and “survival” mechanism. What I know for myself: I would count that pictures anyway, to make sure that the amount, that was standing on second page is correct. Maybe even twice. It is how my brain “trained” because of my life experience and trauma I got in the past. It’s not an excuse, I just saying how it works for me and for some other people too, I guess
