Hey Dean off topic here but I have a question. What if we separate state and federal welfare programs. Keep the Federal Government responsible for programs that affect us Nationally like social security and veterans benefits. Then individual states be responsible for welfare programs such as food assistance, cash assistance, healthcare care assistance etc. States raise the money themselves through state taxes and/or other revenues. Each state decides eligibility, benefit levels, and administration.
