The Six Kalimas are most commonly taught in South Asian Sunni communities, particularly among Hanafi Muslims, such as many Deobandi and Barelvi communities. They are not however the Doctrine of the Hanafi Madh'hab. The Qur’an and authentic hadith establish the core beliefs and phrases contained in them, but the idea of organizing them specifically as “six kalimas” is not a requirement found in the four madh'habs.
